Womanhood: The Bare Reality by Laura Dodsworth
Lowering her gaze to the latest aesthetic phenomenon under society’s scrutiny, photographer Laura Dodsworth studies the vulva. To fund the project, Dodsworth turned to the digital platform supporting creative projects, Kickstarter. She launched her campaign to raise money to create Womanhood: Bare Reality and acquired it all in just one day. The book sees 100 women bare their vulvae without airbrushing. Each photo is accompanied by a short story involving each individual’s perspective on pleasure, trauma, sex, pain, gender, sexuality and simply being a woman.
